What is this site?
The European Systems Biology Community Website.
The European Systems Biology Community website is promoted by the ISBE (Infrastructure for Systems Biology in Europe) consortium, and is developed and maintained by the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG).
The mission of this website is to bring together the community of European scientists using systems biology approaches in their research. Specific objectives are to:
Identify and define the European SB community
Facilitate interaction and networking between community members
Offer information of interest to the community members
Create a communication platform for the community
The data used to seed The European Systems Biology Community website has been obtained from the National Library of Medicine (NLM) using the Pubmed public domain database. To get the community network started, we chose to populate the database with almost 2000 papers from PubMed which had connections to both systems biology and European institutes. From these papers, keywords were assigned to all co-authors, and potential relationships between researchers are calculated on this basis. Due to the automated nature of this search many keywords will be incorrect, and many relevant papers may be missing. Seed data is not exhaustive, complete nor fully accurate.
We therefore encourage researchers to claim their own profiles and edit their lists of keywords. For every change you make, you will immediately be able to see the resulting impact to the dynamic network structure. Very soon it will also be possible to edit the list of research papers in your profile.
